Product certification
In the field of firedamp and explosion protection, the consulting engineers ExGuide Technology offer a comprehensive range of services for manufacturers and distributors of explosion-protected products.
In addition to conformity assessments and tests of explosion-protected products to achieve CE marking, the consulting engineers’ repertoire also includes the handling of certifications by a notified body in accordance with the European Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX) or in accordance with international regulations (e.g. IECEx).
In detail, the following services belong to the field of activity of the consulting engineers:
- Development of an explosion protection concept for your electrical product
- Ingnition hazard assessment of your mechanical product
- Preparation of the technical documentation
- Support in the preparation of operating instructions

Plant inspection
Our consulting engineers support planners or operators of explosion-protected plants with the explosion-relevant documentation and CE marking, which are necessary prerequisites for the safe operation of the plant.
This includes the preparation or review of explosion protection documents in accordance with Directive 1999/92/EC (ATEX) and testing of explosion-protected plants in accordance with the German Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (BetrSichV).
In detail, the following services belong to the field of activity of the engineering office:
- Preparation of plant documentation describing all necessary measures
- Testing/individual acceptance of systems as a competent person for testing
- Preparation of the test reports required for testing prior to commissioning/ recommissioning
Quality assurance
Manufacturers must set up and implement a suitable QA system in accordance with EN ISO/IEC 80079-34 for the production of explosion-protected products. The consulting engineers with many years of experience as explosion protection representatives can assist in setting up practicable measures and procedures.
- Support in implementing the explosion protection requirements according to ATEX and IECEx in the organisational structure, design, manufacturing and testing
- Support in the preparation of operating instructions, EU declarations of conformity, data sheets or other product documentation
- Performance of supplier audits/internal audits
Seminars and workshops
We try to implement the motto “You can buy books, but it’s the implementation that makes the expert”. In this way, we want to help our clients with practical application and not simply lecture expert knowledge.
In our experience, workshops in small groups according to the “question-answer principle” achieve the best learning effect for all participants. However, this requires the active participation of the participants.
